When you travel, what do you do?
I live in Japan, I have a car, I have a baby, too.
I planed to go somewhere by car this weekend.
Well, what do you do?

At first, you can use the travel information websites.
The websites are very useful these days.
You can choose from the map, famous spots or scenery, prices, etc.

This time, we have a very little baby girl.
So we don’t need any attractions, amusements, any theme parks.
I and my wife need some relaxations.
In Japan, one of them is “Hot Spring.”

I searched the websites and find out the hotel which has gorgeous hot spring.
In addition, we need the own, private hot spring.
It is the room with hot spring.

I found out the maisonette type, maybe it is a kind of the cottage.
The room has 2 floors and we take a bath in the room.
The room has a private open-air bath*.
You can see beautiful Japanese ocean view with taking a hot water.
Hot water will relax you.
Hot water can stretch your muscles*, blood vessels*, you can breath hot steam* in winter cold.

These days, Japan has a lot of snow.
Some of the houses have a serious problem about snow.
Snow will smash the houses by its weight*.

And when you drive the car, snow will slip you.

We must be careful in the snow.

You can check the snow out by the websites, too.
There are many useful webcams on the web.
You can check the conditions of the roads.

And you can choose the rout by online maps.
Google map is my favorite.
It also can calculate the driving time.
This time, we take 6 hours to reach.

And and, you can check the useful driving tools on the web.
Important tools, Interesting tools, any troubles, you can pre-study about long way drive.
When I search about this, I remind mobile toilet.
If you face the traffic jam*, you can’t go out from the car for the toilet.
Oh, I must buy it!

At last, I made out the travel plan.
It is perfect...maybe.
What travels appeal you is troubles and accidents.
Of course, not fatal*, not mortal*.
Troubles, accidents makes us excite.
Make us think, consider about us and world.
And meeting some people, views, little discoveries.
Travel has a lot of fun.

This time, I use many many useful web gadgets.
Originally, travel is not like that.
When you travel the earth, you shouldn’t have a map.
You shouldn’t use the World-wide eyes(which means web-tools).
No hints, no pre-study.
Yes, it is a real travel or trip.
But this time, we must protect the baby.
Such a real one is next time...

vessels*血管。ヴェッセル。a weak vesselなどと、「血管の弱い人、頼りにならない人」のことを揶揄するらしい。the weaker vesselは「弱き器（女性）」らしい。女性蔑視にならないか心配だが、ヒステリーとか、血管的な何かと繋がっていそうな言葉。で、検索してみたらそのものズバリのサイトThe Weaker Vessel Domestic Violence Registry- "Making Battered Lives Beautiful"を見つける。その中のThe Weaker Vessel - Historyによれば、聖書で出てきた言葉らしい。このサイトはドメスティック・バイオレンスについてのサイトみたいで、女性は「the weaker vessel弱き器」なのだよ、ということらしい。
ラテン語源はvase「瓶」と関係があるよう。
ベゼルという言葉があったかと思うが、ベゼルって何の事・意味でしょうか？教えてください。 - Yahoo!知恵袋によると、ダイバーが潜り始めた時につける印のことらしい。
ちなみに「ベセル市」というのがアメリカはアラスカ州にあった。ベセル (アラスカ州) - Wikipedia。つづりはBethel。Bethelをまた辞書で引いてみると、聖域、聖所という意味が。エルサレム北部に同名の村があり、ヤコブが天国へ通じるはしごの夢を見て名付けた血、じゃなかった地だとか。

After one year and half year silence*.
In this term, many things happened.
I married.
I am blessed with* a girl.
Now we're planning our own new house.

When I was a child, I was interested in fishing, camping, etc.

GW=Golden Week in Japan, it means...

Now in Japan,GW, Golden Week!!!
But... what is GW?

Golden Week* means continuous holidays in Japan.
This year, GW has 5 holidays, including Sat, Sun, Constitution Day, Greenery Day, Children's Day.
It's golden?!
For someone, it is not golden because they can't take holidays in this season.
GW, there are a lot of people move, so some service industries must work this season.
And some system engineer must do maintenance.
And about me...

Well, what did I do in first part of GW?
Sat, I had a baseball club's tournament.
We lost.
The next day, Sun, today, we had a practice match with another junior high school team which also lost the tournament.
Tomorrow?
Yes, exactly. Baseball practice!

Why do I do such a practice in Japanese junior high?
It's a kind of a curse.
Maybe we are cast a spell by someone.
If we don't do practice, maybe someone will beat me. beat me. beat me.

iPhone is a great device.
But it has some weak points.

The iTunes Store released the Radiohead's "In Rainbows".
Original version was released on the Radiohead's official web site, and the value was not limited.
Consumers can select freely.
But in the iTunes, the songs are ¥150 per songs in Japan.
Is it OK thing?
I think OK, because Radiohead made a contract with Apple.
In their web site, they can do everything, but in iTunes, they need to obey iTunes system.
I dream, if Apple have brave, In this chance, try to this new system -- consumers select the value --, but this time, they continued usual way.
But it is OK.

Now I'm marking tests.
Every time this task is hard for me.
Physically, and psychologically.

Getting back hotel, we had sea smell, fish smell, row smell.
Right after back, we fell down and slept in the hotel which has rich atmosphere.
Direct sunlight* gains our energy.
Hotel's shower is epoch-making*. I hope someday I can get it.
Left side knob* will change temperature, right side will switch shower and faucet*.
You don't need to control temperature when you make water stop and come out.
It is comfortable.

帰ると潮臭く、魚臭く、生臭くなっていた。
ホテルは高級感のあるところで、僕と父は、帰るとばったりと倒れ込んでしばらく眠った。

ホテルのシャワーは画期的で、いつか自分の家のシャワーもこういうのになればいいな、と思った。
左側のつまみで温度調節、右側のつまみを上に回すとシャワーが出て、下に回すと蛇口から湯が出るのだ。
温度を一定に保ったままで、シャワーを出したり止めたりできる。
快適だ。

At first glance, I fell in love with her.

It is good soft, but I get used to Safari, so I don't use it.
It is too lucky to meet dorado in this trip.
The captain caught oen.
And the captain hit one and gave the lod to my father, my father caought one.
Only I didn't catch.
Well...what the scene that a school* of curious dorados come to our boat!

Today, I would like to interupt my trip memory, I would like to write about Karaoke.
Conguraturations! Now I beated the examination!! I passed the exam to be a real teacher.
So, my co-worker who also teaches English in junior high school invited me to the Karaoke. Maybe she knew I am longing to sing.
I met one foreigner at the Karaoke.
He is in the American Military*, he is half between Japanese and American.
Two years, he'd been in Iraq.
Now he enjoys his life, for example he plays music on the street.
I don't know how it is greatful, American Military pay much money to him.
At least, he can drink and have fun with girls for same years in Iraq.
Youngs will fry to Iraq instead of him.
One will never come back.
In Iraq, sometimes they try to help the Iraqis to make them move to safe place.
HOWEVER, some never follow him. (Most of them is mother...why?)
There is a world I don't know.
And it links with this small town...

今日はちょっとだけ旅行記を中断して、先日行ったカラオケについて書いておこうと思う。
僕の就職先がはっきりと決まって、僕が歌いたがっていたものだから、同じ英語科の先生が僕をカラオケに誘ってくれた。
そこに来ていた外国人の話。
彼はアメリカ陸軍に所属していて、日本人とアメリカ人のハーフだった。
２年間、イラクに行って来たという。
今はこっちで大学生と気ままにバンドを組んだりして過ごしている。
イラクに行ったことがどれほどの価値があるか知らないが、アメリカ軍は多額の金銭を払ってくれるらしい。
少なくとも、実地勤務したのと同じくらいの年月、酒を喰らってビデオを借りて、たまに風俗に行けるくらいの金は手配してくれるらしい。
右も左もわからない若造が、そうして休暇をとった兵士の代わりにイラクへと飛ぶ。
ある者は二度と帰ってくることがない。
現地では、一般市民を安全な場所に避難させたりすることもある。
けれど、頑固にそこにとどまろうとする者もいる。（なぜか母親が多いらしい。）
僕の知らない世界が、そこには広がっている。
そして、田舎町でも、その世界とつながっていたのだ。

It's 6 o'clock early morning.
We jumped on the car which came to pick up us to hotel, getting ice, going to the port.
It's very calm* port.
Natures are around us, the morning is still far away.

前に書いたのが９月９日なので、１３日も経ってしまいました。
９月９日だけに、「九るしんで」いたのでしょうか。
あの長崎旅行からだいぶ月日が経ちました。
この英語ブログを書くことは、英語を日々使ってみるということに加えて、あの旅行を再確認する作業にもなりそうです。
さて、長崎を巡った父と息子は、海路を一路、五島列島へ・・・。

I like Mango juices.
We left Nagasaki to Goto islands by ferry.
During the sea load, I could see the battle ship like Senkan Yamato.

There is a a statue* in the Nagasaki peice park (near the Atomic Bomb Museum).
The statue rises right hand to sky which falls atomic bombs.
It rises left hand level, it goes parallel* to the land. It means "piece".
And closing eyes are praying for vistims of atomic bombs.

On August 9th in 1945, FATMAN falled on cecnter of Nagasaki city.
Many many people died.
Even now, atomic bomb still has been a serious problem,
Japanese continue to discuss about atomic power.

In 1641, Dutch came to Dejima instead of Portuguese. Dejima works as "Only window opened to Europe during Sakoku era (which means closing our door)" for 218 years.
The picture is cooking room. Dutch coldn't celebrate their Christmas because Japanese forbitten Christianity*. So they celebrated it secretry.
Pig is impressive*.
Old Japanese addressed* "Kapitan" as "Captain".

ブタが印象的でした。

In Nagasaki, we went to Dejima.
Dejima is an island which opened to some foreign countries during Edo era.
In Edo era, we Japanese closed our doors* and comunicated only few countiries.
BUT we studied a lot from the few countries.

I went to Ryu's graduated high school in Sasebo.
I went up with the electrical bicycle from the Sasebo city hall*.
Once upon a time, they built barricades* here...
This picture was taken from the high school.
Now, I'm reading "69 sixty nine" written by Ryu Murakami.
The novel talks about Ryu's high school era.

In Sasebo, there are some holes left. They are Boukuugo an air-raid shelter*. Now people use them for stores.
Only a little glance when I took a bicycle. The inside roof was low. It has left from 60 years ago.
We called these, Tunnel Yoko-cho.

Sasebo city has many slopes.
We rented electronically assisted bicycles* and rode around.
Only we drove bicycles. Sasebo people don't ride on bicycles?
Very hot day, many people were down because of a heat attack* in Japan. Nobody wants to ride on bicycles such a boiling day.
We went to the high school which Ryu Murakami graduated from.

From the night to the morning, there is a loneliness* in Tokyo. But not in Sasebo.
Is it depend on my feeling condition?
Pictures taken by degital camera during the trip are my logs. You can see when the picture was taken, the date and time. On the way* of the journey, you can review your photos in the camera and you erase what you don't need.
This trip, I brought only one memory that has 512MB, so I erased some important photos with tears.
After going back home, I installed these photos to Macintosh, iPhoto application and then I made slideshow and watched it.
I'm going to present the photo DVD which is made by iDVD to my father.

We know it, however, we become to be familiar such boring things during spending time.
I don't know how much I could destroy my ordinary life.
Maybe I am getting older and older a little by little.
First Day. At night, on our ferryboat deck*, a woman felt sea wind. It is a stereotype. I thought I had to say something, but I left her.

けれども僕たちは、生きていくうちにだんだんと決まりごとに慣れていく。
今回の旅がどのくらい日常を逸脱できたかはわからない。
少しずつ大人になってきているのかもしれない。
１日目。夜に出発するフェリーの甲板で海風に吹かれている女性という典型的なものを見た。声をかけようと思ったが、そっとしておいた。

I came home from the journey.
Journey is good. You can see the world newly, and the purpose of the journey is going everywhere, so your footwork* is very rhythmical. Normaly I love my room. But when I'm on the jorney, I have freely mind and soul and go around and around.
I thought about a lot of problem, not so serious. I had fun time. Pure fun time.
I did't buy souvenir* for you, so this writing is only my transparent* souvenir. Just for you. (maybe continue to next...)

旅から帰ってきた。

いろいろ考えるべきことを考えて、とはいってもそんなに真剣な思索みたいなものじゃなく、純粋に楽しんできました。
これを読む人におみやげはないから、せめてものお土産話でもしていけたらいいなあと思います。

an elementary school reunion

I participated my elementary school reunion.
12 years, long time no sees.
Every body's changing, you may say, but people have something never change.
Vriety of lives. Each friend has his/her life.
And I'm afraid of... in the future, my students invite me to their reunion? Same time, I am excited about it.
Confused, time is gone, so much time gone, and so many people are now glowing (strange usage?)...
I'm a little bit confusing.

小学校の同窓会に出てきた。
小学生の頃から会っていない人（実に12年間！当時の年齢の２倍だ）が多かった。
みんなそれなりに変わったなあというところもあれば、ああそうだった、変わらないなあ、というところもあって。
それぞれにそれぞれの人生を生きているんだなあ、というその多様さと、
自分も将来こうやって同窓会に呼んでもらえることがあるのだろうか、という不安と期待と、
いろいろに入り交じって、複雑な気分になった。

I'll go on a trip to Kyushu (south Japan) from today night.
It's 5 days trip around Sasebo, Nagasaki, Goto island, Hakata, Moji.
*Nagasaki had atomic bomb for 62 years ago on August 9th.
I haven't traveled for one year.
I'll think about travel baggages(what do you need, what makes you feel better?), thinking on trip (in special condition, occasion, what do you think about you? ), any more :D

I have got some HACKs, like these...
-make a purpose.
-make it easily and simple.
-remember, "force of habit"

Yes, now, let's do it.

-make a purpose.
post everyday. If I do it, I can write something in English.

-make it easily and simple.
When I want to write something difficult things, I have to look up a word in a dictionary.
OK, I have to open dictionaries, but you don't need to remember the words.
just consult.
And you don't need to write very well.
You are now on the excercise.

-remember, "force of habit"
everyday, you must write.
only 5 minutes is enough.
You must continue.
Just continue.
You don't need to consider about other things.

*Oh man, why are you so idle?
**Say the truth...until now, I don't know diferrence of "idol" and "idle". It's shame.

In addition, if you do that some times, you may start to think that how to do well, how to do fast, so the barrier become more lower.
If you find a way to do it easier, it will be more fun and lower barrier.
In that case, you need to do it often.
When I am college, I didn't clean up bath, room, almost I didn't.
So some months passed, I decided to clean, I didn't have memory how to do it, it was like try new things.
It never develop and I always round around the water tank and dead.

It is also called hurdle.
The barrier or hurdle will become lower if you experience the activities.

For me, house keeping.
For example cleaning up sink, toilet, bath room.
Cooking, for example cutting stuffs.
If you experience once, you have already what to do next, it is easy for you.

It is not useful for us who have no imagination that watching in TV or reading in books.
Doing actually is meaningful.

When she was living, she sometime traced Buddha's word, "Han-nya Shin Kyo".
Now I chant "Han-nya Shin Kyo" everyday and learn some from it.
When I was child, I was in chorus group and summer camp, I chant it some times.
It is good for chorus and breath, and shape of body, maybe.
These day, I read aloud something.
ex. English paragraph.
I heard it is good for brain.
And I feel, oh it is true.

Now I seek to Buddhism.
I want to write something about the Buddhism, but maybe it is hard to do.
